Division Description The Innovative Transit program is a new service funded through the Valley Transportation Authority’s (VTA) Measure B Innovative Transit grant program. The funding is for two years and will provide a new on-demand shuttle service for City residents and visitors. The service will be provided by a transportation partner, Rideco, Inc., and overseen by staff in the Public Services Department. The on-demand service will provide virtual stops within a short walk for all residents in the City, allowing them to use the service to connect to other transportation such as Caltrain and regional bus service. The service will provide residents with transportation for various other travel needs within the City. The intent of the two-year grant program is to evaluate the success of the model within the Community. Should the model prove successful, the City will work with VTA to identify a means to sustain the program. FY 2020-21and 2021-22 Accomplishments  Received a grant and completed funding agreement with VTA to fund the program  Completed a transportation provider agreement with Rideco, Inc. to provide service within the City FY 2022-23 and 2023-24 Activity Goals  Initiate on-demand last mile transit service for the Morgan Hill Community (Supporting Our Youth, Seniors, and Entire Community; Enhancing Diversity and Inclusiveness, Transportation)  Provide an average of 75 trips per day in FY 2022-23 and 150 per day in FY 2023-24 (Supporting Our Youth, Seniors, and Entire Community; Enhancing Diversity and Inclusiveness, Transportation) Financial Comments VTA grant funding totals $1,372,400 for the two-year program and the program is anticipated to generate $175,500 in fares over the two-year period. The City’s out of pocket matching costs after this revenue is anticipated to be approximately $80,000 for the two-year period and will be funded by the General Fund.
