Division Description The Geographic Information Systems Division (GIS) is part of the Public Services Department and provides geographic mapping and spatial data analysis citywide. This division was created in 2017 and is managed by the GIS Administrator who reports to the Public Services Director. The GIS Administrator oversees the operation of GIS services and is building an Enterprise GIS Program that integrates GIS with each City department. GIS is a key technology, and improvements in GIS capabilities will boost productivity for many City departments. Governance:  Organized A GIS/Public Services group that meets regularly to discuss GIS needs, projects and planning  Established GIS submittal standards for developer plans Data and Databases:  Produced a master address database for emergency response  Acquired new aerial imagery and LiDAR  Completed a new central data store for City GIS data  Reviewed data improvements to Utilities sewer, water and stormwater database and made changes to data and data structure to facilitate business system integration  Completed integration of Enterprise GIS with Utilities wastewater software POSM  Assisted Maintenance teammates and vendor to integrate Cityworks with Enterprise GIS  Completed integration of Enterprise GIS with Planning/Building TrakIT application GIS Software:  Created a new internal web map called CityMaps using current software to replace the City’s MHMaps application  Implemented the new GeoHub application. GeoHub combines public Open Data and internal City data sharing through internal and external data access  Rescoped the My Government Services task in favor of the new GeoHub technology. Increased information sharing via the City website, Cityworks, and other applications  Began gradual migration to the next generation desktop software (ArcGIS Pro) with staff training, planning, and coordination with IT teammates FY 2020-21 and 2021-22 Accomplishments Procedures, Workflow, and Integration:  Completed integration of Enterprise GIS with utilities application Sedaru
