Project Description Constructed in 1994, the South County Regional Wastewater Authority (SCRWA) treatment plant continues to treat wastewater collected from the Cities of Morgan Hill and Gilroy. The treatment plant is currently in the second year of a major expansion project. This project consists of plant improvements that will increase the overall treatment capacity, while also implementing new standards from the State Water Resources Control Board. The project is managed by SCRWA and the City reimburses costs associated with construction per the Joint Powers Authority agreement. The Treatment Plant Expansion is anticipated to be completed in FY 2024-25. Project Justification This project maintains adequate levels of service for the sewer system customers, as well as meets the regulatory requirements from the State Water Resources Control Board.
