MINI HIP HOP STARS A fabulous, fun and creative class for young performers with silly songs and dancing games that encourages little movers to work on Gross Motor skills. This is for energetic boys and girls who want to learn how to move to the beat and create their own hip hop poses. Students will have a chance to perform on stage for their families in our Spring Recital in the last week of Session 2’s classes. Special Instructions: Participants should bring a water bottle and wear dance shoes or rubber tread socks. Wear comfortable clothes like (leotards, leggings, sweatpants) which facilitate easy movement. If your child is not fully potty trained/needs help in the restroom, parent should stay on premises in the lobby. Learn how to develop your own choreography in the hip hop world by incorporating Jazz, Acro, and Contemporary into your own expression of self on the dance floor. This class is for young dancers who want to learn how to make up their own steps to age appropriate hip hop anthems. Students will use dance props, learn stretching techniques for flexibility, practice basic pop and lock techniques in this interactive class with a California Credentialed Dance instructor. Students will perform their choreography pieces at our annual Spring Recital on the last week of classes. Dance along with California Credentialed teacher Miss April to fun songs, props and games. Students will learn ballet barre, across the floor, tumbling and standing acrobatics as well as how to follow choreography. Dancers will have a chance to perform on stage for their families in our Spring Recital in the last week of class. Special Instructions: Participants should bring a water bottle and wear dance shoes or rubber tread socks. Wear comfortable clothes like leotards which facilitate easy movement. *Must have one adult outside of the classroom on property if your child is not fully potty trained and independent in the restroom. CODING CLUB Let’s meet and have serious coding fun! In the Coding Club, students will get an opportunity to explore different ways to code. They can choose from Scratch Coding, VR Robotics Coding, Web Design, and Game Design with JavaScript. We will assign the coding projects based on students’ age group and interests. In the class, students will learn different approaches to coding; they will design a website, code a game, create a digital art, or train a virtual robot to accomplish a task. Interested students will present their work at the end of the session. Beginners to experienced, all skill levels are welcome. Python is a very concise, easy-to-read, versatile, and professional-level programming language. We will cover various concepts such as loops, conditionals, variables, lists, and functions. Each coding project will be themed around a specific coding concept. Students will work on exciting projects such as making a game, art, or an algorithm. No prior coding experience is necessary; beginners to advanced all skill levels are welcome. National River Cleanup Day in Morgan Hill May 18th, 2024 | 9am-12pm Saturday, May 18th from 9am-12pm, is National River Cleanup Day in Morgan Hill. This is a wonderful opportunity for individuals, families, and groups to enhance the health of West Little Llagas Creek and its wildlife. We will concentrate on picking up litter - gloves, bags, litter grabbers and water will be provided. Bring your own water bottle. We'll meet at the Corporation Yard (100 Edes Court) at 9am. Participants under 18 will need to bring a volunteer waiver signed by their parents with them the morning of the event. Call (408) 310-4169 for more info or to get a volunteer waiver.
