TRANSPORTATION VTA will provide eligible seniors with rides to their required destination. Applications are available at the Senior Center Welcome Desk (408) 782-1284. RYDE (REACH YOUR DESTINATION EASILY) Do you know of an Older Adult who is isolated and is not able to drive? Transportation is available in the Morgan Hill area for appointments, grocery store visits and other errands. For more information about our RYDE program, please call (408) 310-4250. TUESDAY NIGHT BINGO AT THE COMMUNITY AND CULTURAL CENTER AGE: 18+ This large-scale BINGO program, facilitated by the Friends of the Morgan Hill Senior Center operates throughout the year to raise funds for the sustainability of the Senior Centers programs and services. Games consist of Bingo, pull tabs and flash cards. Snack bar and free coffee are available. Doors open at 4:15 PM. Early bird games begin at 5:45 PM. SENIOR ADULT LEGAL ASSISTANCE Free legal assistance for Santa Clara County residents 60+ with problems pertaining to Social Security, Medicare, Medi-Cal, mobile homes, elder abuse, and housing. SALA offers in-person appointments on the 2nd Thursday of the month from 10:00am 12:30 PM. Call (408) 782-1284 to make an appointment. You can call SALA directly at (408) 295-5991. Fee: Free DEMENTIA SUPPORT GROUPS AGE: 60+ These groups provide a safe place for family members and friends of dementia patients to shareFee:lings, concerns, and information. They are where you will find support, and learn how people cope with the symptoms and life changes caused by dementia, Alzheimer’s disease and other related disorders. Location: CRC Senior Center Activity Room 1 (In-Person) 2nd Mo Ongoing 11:00 AM-12:30 PM Location: Virtual 4th Mo Ongoing 12:00 PM-01:30 PM Fee: Free SOUTH COUNTY DEMENTIA CAREGIVIERS SUPPORT GROUP If you are providing care for a family member with dementia, our group offers a way to connect, share, and learn together on your caregiving journey. Our special focus is Lewy body disease and related dementias (LBD). Our group facilitator is a Geriatric Nurse Practitioner and an experienced dementia caregiver support group leader. We meet the 4th Sunday of every month from 2:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. in Morgan Hill's Centennial Recreation Center/Senior Center.
