Division Description The activities accomplished with this budget address maintenance of the specific features and amenities that the City has constructed in the Downtown area to support commerce, public gatherings, community use, and numerous events. These specific features and amenities include the Downtown Parks, parking lots, the Downtown Parking Structure, public art, medians, downtown streetscape, and other public property within the Downtown area. The recent improvements to the Downtown require a higher level of maintenance support which will be supported through a combination of contractors, part-time teammates, and full-time teammates. FY 2016-17 and 2017-18 Accomplishments • Opened Railroad Park, Third Street Creek Park and Nob Hill Trail Park • Installed an inground pedestrian cross walk at 3 rd St • Utilized a hybrid of contractors and City teammates to provide a high level of service Downtown FY 2018-19 and 2019-20 Activity Goals • Maintain the new downtown parks to ensure they are maintained to a high standard and kept safe for the public to enjoy (Supporting Our Youth, Seniors, and Entire Community) • Continually evaluate services to ensure a higher level of maintenance is consistently achieved (Infrastructure) • Complete improvements to landscaping areas near the Monterey Road underpass, considerably improving the aesthetics to the northern gateway to Downtown. (Economic Development and Telecommunications)

Financial Comments Funding for this activity has increased in recognition of the additional Downtown amenities and heightened maintenance expectations.
