Project Description The 2017 Sewer System Master Plan recommended two improvements to mitigate existing sewer system deficiencies. These improvements are described as follows: o Tennant Avenue Pipeline: This improvement consists of the replacement of 2,200 feet of existing 18- inch sewer pipeline along Tennant Avenue with a 24-inch pipeline. This improvement mitigates capacity deficiencies under peak flow conditions. o E. Dunne Avenue Pipeline: This improvement is intended as a sewer diversion to alleviate excess flow in the Monterey Road sewer pipeline and consists of 1,000 ft of new 12-inch pipeline connecting to the Railroad Avenue trunk line. Project Justification The City's 2017 Sewer System Master Plan outlines the orderly construction of sewer system infrastructure intended to accommodate future growth, while maintaining adequate levels of service. To meet these levels of service requirements, the Master Plan recommended the construction of these sewer pipelines to mitigate existing capacity deficiencies. This increase in sewer system capacity will provide adequate levels of service for existing customers and will allow for the planned development as specified in the City's General Plan. The cost for this pipeline replacement will be met with bond proceeds.
