Council Priorities Enhancing Public Safety, Maintaining Fiscal Responsibility
Morgan Hill to SCRWA Treatment Plant
Project Description A parallel sewer trunk line is intended to facilitate the City's planned growth and to mitigate capacity constrictions in the existing trunk line. The project will span the distance between Highland Avenue and Renz Lane in Gilroy. The project is currently under design; however, the construction phase is unfunded due to the high capital cost of the project. Project Justification The City's Sewer SystemMaster Plan identified areas of growth consistent with the General Plan and includes the orderly construction of sewer improvements intended to service that growth. The rate of growth drives the need for expanded capacity in the sewer trunk line and the capacity of the SCRWA treatment plant. Cost for expanding capacity of the trunk line will be met by the collection of sewer impact fees and existing rates.
