Community Services (continued)

community resources and engaging them in City recreation programs has been an ongoing and collaborative effort for the Division. Previously, several community events such as supporting Latin Heritage Month with the Latin Concert and Zumbathon, Summer Fun in the Park, 50+ Ball, Free Aquatic Center visits for youth, and ensuring that our City continues to value youth by intentionally utilizing the 41 developmental assets as a framework for conversations, training, and decision making have all been part of our community outreach strategy, however, given the budget reductions these events have been cancelled for the next two years. Teammates will continue to look for strategies to connect with the community given the reduced resources to do so. • Successfully transitioned program management of Park Place Afterschool Program from the City to the Boys and Girls Club. • In partnership with the Youth Action Council, organized a successful Youth Leadership Morgan Hill event and 14 th and 15 th Annual 50+ Ball. • Facilitated an average of 4,722 annual entries at the Skate/BMX Park. • Offered the three-part Summer Fun in the Park series at Galvan Park in 2019 • Facilitated a successful volunteer driver program for seniors in Morgan Hill improving access to transportation, programs, and services. • Led the Older Adult Services Strategic Planning Process. • Enhanced Volunteer recruitment and placement resulting in 8,000 volunteer hours. • Established Friends of the Morgan Hill Senior Center non-profit to support sustainability of the Senior Center. • Launched the Senior Support Endowment Fund and Giving Tree Program resulting in $100,000 increase in endowment fund. • Launched a Successful Healthy Aging week with over 500 older adults participating in a variety of activities supporting Healthy Aging and Aging in Place. • Facilitated over 47,644 annual program participation usage entries in Senior Center Programs. • Facilitated monthly Community Asset Builder (CAB) meetings to engage community-based organizations.
