• Partnered with City, County and faith-based organizations to apply best practices for Homeless population (Ongoing Council Priorities: Enhancing Public Safety/Supporting Our Youth, Seniors and Entire Community) • Supported Chief in his role as president of the California Police Chief Association (2019 Council Strategic Priorities: Regional Initiatives) • Purchased Automated License Plate Reader /Approved Decision Package to replace existing non-functional LPR system to identify stolen vehicles within our community (Ongoing Council Priorities: Enhancing Public Safety) • Received Homeland Security Grant for the purchase of 2 incursion barriers. We received and have deployed the barriers at several special planned events (Ongoing Council Priorities: Enhancing Public Safety) • Provided training for all legislatively mandated and collateral trainings for all officers (Ongoing Council Priorities: Enhancing Public Safety) • Provided sheltering of cats at the local County Animal Shelter to provide spay/neuter and adoption services in an effort to safely and humanely decrease the feral cat population/ Approved Decision Package (Ongoing Council Priorities: Protecting the Environment and Maintaining Fiscal Responsibility) • Provided suicide prevention training to all Field Operations Division Officers (Council Ongoing Priorities: Enhancing Public Safety, Preserving and Cultivating Public Trust, Supporting our Youth, Seniors, and Entire Community • Purchased and Implemented new Field Training Officer Software to improve efficiencies and statistical data: (Ongoing Council Priorities: Enhancing Public Safety) • Strengthened regional communication capability by transitioning to Silicon Valley Regional Communication System: (Ongoing Council Priorities: Enhancing Public Safety/Advancing Regional Initiatives) • Developed safety protocols and procedures for response to calls for service, department holding cells, and prisoner transport due to COVID-19 Shelter in Place Orders FY 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 Activity Goals • Hire Police Officers to fill vacancies (Ongoing Council Priorities: Enhancing Public Safety) • Replace Mobizent eCite-electronic citations and traffic collision reporting platform to Crossroads to improve reliability, efficiencies and environmental footprint and ensure alignment of traffic enforcement with high collision areas.
