and commercial customers. Approved form-based Master License Agreements with Verizon and Extenet supporting the deployment of small cells on City Street lights. Approved a new equipment shelter that will aid in the deployment of Fiber to the Home in southern Morgan Hill and the Unincorporated county. • Launched a new Tourism Based Improvement District: Collaborated with hotels and community stakeholders to create a Tourism Improvement District which is expected to generate approximately $400,000 annually for the promotions of the area as a tourism destination. The team is actively supporting the new Visit Morgan Hill Board that began a Strategic Planning process and funded the Tourism Symposium with over 100 attendees at Rosewood Cordevalle. • Partnerships/Events: Led the 2nd and 3rd annual regional Economic Development Symposiums under the Silicon Valley Economic Development Alliance (SVEDA) umbrella in partnership with ICSC and ULI. This year, Morgan Hill’s Economic Development Manager was appointed chair for SVEDA’s 2019/20 term. Hosted Manufacturing Day in partnership with MHUSD, the Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce and several local employers. Hosted the first annual Wine Stroll VIP luncheon in partnership with the Morgan Hill Downtown Association and several local developers, leveraging over $10,000 in private funding. • Marketing & Communications: Enhanced the Choose Morgan Hill website by adding a blog feature which highlights businesses and key economic development projects. Introduced new social media handles and a blog for promotion. Launched a marketing campaign with the Silicon Valley Business Journal to promote the Economic Blueprint and leveraged $15,000 of private sector funding to complement the campaign. Implemented a digital campaign with Hearst Communication highlighting the four Economic Blueprint industries. • Fee Freeze Agreement Program: In fiscal year 2018-2019, the Impact Fee Freeze program was rebranded and launched to stimulate new commercial and industrial development. Under the program 6 agreements were approved with 3 projects broken ground and an additional two project finalizing plans to break ground. • Transportation: Continue to engage with the High Speed Rail project and Caltrain 2040 Business Planning process. Provided letters advocting the City’s position on both projects. Continue to partner with VTA and South County representatives to align goals on transportation-related projects and advocacy.
