Project Description The Outdoor Sports Center (OSC) is the most utilized field facility in Morgan Hill. Adjacent to the OSC is the Dennis Kennedy Morgan Hill Aquatics Center. Bordering both sites is approximately 14 acres of undeveloped property purchased by the City for sports and recreation. The funding in this project is intended to support the development of the overall site/area in support of providing increased sports facilities for the community. The City is currently in the process of a feasibility study for a sand volleyball facility. The results of this study will inform the next steps of development at the site. In FY 20/21, following results of the study an overall site plan will be developed. The Outdoor Sports Center supports local youth sports leagues and regional tournaments. It is a key component in the City's Parks and Recreation System and is the most important recreation facility in relation to sports tourism, which is identified in the Economic Blueprint as one of the key areas of focus for the City. This project would provide for expansion of components of the facility to increase capacity. The City is coordinating with the operator of the Outdoor Sports Center and plans to leverage and maximize resources between the two organizations.
