The Emergency Medical Element of the Public Safety Master Plan shall address paramedic response and its relationship to fire protection responders The cost of the Master Plan is anticipated to be $100,000 which will be split among the Police and Fire Departments as well as Santa Clara County Fire Department (South County). FY15-16 WORKPLAN Implement radio upgrade in coordination with Silicon Valley Regional Interoperability Authority Expand program for paperless report writing system COUNCIL GOALS The Police Department will implement policies and activities that are aligned with the priorities, goals and strategies the City Council has set for 2015:  Supporting Youth o Continue to support youth through participation on the South County Valley Youth Safety Task Force to address the influences and impacts of gang activity on Morgan Hill youth o Provide youth identified as at-risk for gang affiliation with the opportunity to participate in sports programs and recreational activities mentored by police officers and law enforcement staff o Continue Adopt-a-School Program whereby patrol officers regularly visit specific schools to conduct foot patrol and community outreach o Continue to implement active Police Explorer program to offer youth between the ages of 14-21 with the opportunity to learn first-hand about law enforcement as a profession  Community Engagement and Diversity o Continue to actively use social media such as Facebook and Twitter to enhance on-going communication between the Department and Morgan Hill residents regarding public safety o Maintain quarterly schedule for Department e-newsletter; send eblasts as needed with announcements and alerts regarding public safety to subscribers o Hold community events including Public Safety Day and National Night Out o Continue to conduct outreach to all segments of the community for participation in the Citizens Police
