FY 15-16 ACTIVITY GOALS  Provide coordinated cross-functional land development engineering services  Provide engineering plan check for miscellaneous projects submitted to the City meeting established turn-around times and developer’s expectations  Provide construction inspection for developer off-site improvements in a thorough manner that enables projects to move forward with minimal delays  Provide traffic consulting when called for  Provide support to CIP program by completing projects assigned and offering technical support when needed COUNCIL GOALS The Engineering Division will implement policies and activities that are aligned with the ongoing priorities and focus areas the City Council has set for 2015:  Enhancing Public Safety o Assist the Planning staff in conditioning development projects for adequate bike lanes, paths, and other amenities to enhance child pedestrian movement o Evaluate neighborhood traffic concerns for the safety of children o Pursue ‘Safe Routes to School’ grant funding and utilize revenues from the RDCS ‘Safe Routes to School’ pro- gram to improve the safety for children accessing school sites  Maintaining Fiscal Responsibility & Stimulate Economic Development o Assist development community with timely processing of reviews o Work collaboratively with Community Development and Economic Development teammates to facilitate com- mercial and industrial development  Participating in Regional Issues o Ongoing participation in the Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) Technical Advisory Committee
