If your retirement effective date is more than 120 days after separation from employment: You are not eligible for coverage at retirement or at any future date.

There are some exceptions to this rule. Contact CalPERS at 888 CalPERS (or 888 -225-7377) if you have questions about your eligibility.

If you were covered as a dependent through another health plan when you retired: You may be eligible to enroll in a CalPERS health plan. Contact CalPERS for more information. If you have questions about your CalPERS health benefits and you are an active member: Contact your personnel office or health benefits officer. If you are a retiree, contact CalPERS at 888 CalPERS (or 888 -225-7377).
