BUILDING DEVELOPMENT ASSETS ONE TEEN AT A TIME!

TEENS

Teens make a difference in your community by being part of the Morgan Hill Youth Action Council The Youth Action Council (YAC) is a group of teen developmental asset leaders from ages 13 to 18 that give a voice to teens in the community by building assets one teen at a time The purpose of YAC is to serve as the prominent voice representing the youth in our community YAC helps the teens of Morgan Hill recognize that they are valued and appreciated as a part of the community (Asset #7: Community Values Youth - young person perceives that adult in the community value youth) As a group of dedicated teenagers, YAC will communicate the desires of teens and create programs and special events where teens can cultivate Developmental Assets through building a bond with other teens and members of the community YAC is a great opportunity for teens interested in learning and/or polish their leadership, social, and life and work skills

YAC meets on the first Tuesday of each month (except for the second Tuesday in September and January) at 5pm at the Centennial Recreation Center (171 W Edmundson Avenue) or Zoom All students interested in becoming YAC Members must first need to complete the Youth Leadership Morgan Hill program during the summer in July For more information about YAC check out the YAC Information Packet at http://www morganhill ca gov/273/Youth-Action-Council or contact Chiquy Mejía Youth Development Coordinator at chiquy mejia@mhcrc com or 408 310 4253
