Police Field Operations (continued)  Strengthen partnership with County and faith-based organizations to apply best practices for unhoused population (Enhancing Public Safety; Supporting Our Youth, Seniors and Entire Community)  Provide POST training for all legislatively mandated trainings for all officers (Enhancing Public Safety)  Reimplement the following Community Programs that were suspended because of COVID-19: Community Police Academy, Police Explorer Program, Parent Project, Crime Prevention meetings, Volunteers in Policing, and Cadet Program (Enhancing Public Safety; Supporting Our Youth, Seniors and Entire Community)  Onboard 6 new Volunteers in Policing and expand services provided by the program (Enhancing Public Safety/Supporting Our Youth, Seniors and Entire Community)  Host Community Police Academy in Spanish (Enhancing Public Safety; Supporting Our Youth, Seniors and Entire Community)  Addressing quality of life issues in partnership with our City’s Housing Department (Enhancing Public Safety; Supporting Our Youth, Seniors and Entire Community) Financial Comments The Police Department will enter into agreement with Flock Safety Systems for an additional 25 Flock cameras, for a $75,000 one-time fee and $120,000 annually for a total of 50 cameras. In FY 2022-23 1 FTE Multi-Service Officer in the Field Operations Division to assist officers with non-emergency calls for service such as, recovering stolen vehicles preparing reports, transporting prisoners to County jail and performing animal service duties as required.
