Housing Programs (continued)

FY 2020-21 and 2021-22 Accomplishments  In collaboration with UHC and the County of Santa Clara, the Housing Division helped to facilitate financing and construction commencement and completion for the Crossings on Monterey, a 39- unit Affordable Housing development, which now houses lower income families  In collaboration with UHC and the County of Santa Clara, the Housing Division helped to facilitate financing for the Royal Oak Village, a 73 unit Affordable Housing Development located along Watsonville Road, south of Monterey Road. The City Council approved funding in the amount of $400,000 and the County of Santa Clara Board of Supervisors approved a $9.9 million investment from the Measure A Affordable Housing Bond  Ongoing collaboration with MHPD, Santa Clara County, our Faith-Based Community, Gilroy Compassion Center, and Morgan Hill Bible Church, the Safe Park “Focus” program continues to experience successful meaningful outcomes such as obtaining stable employment and housing. The family program helps up to 30 people a night  Ongoing collaboration with Santa Clara County Office of Supportive Housing, funding homeless prevention (rental assistance) to help identify, support and house our homeless population (132 unhoused Morgan Hill individuals have been interviewed and assessed to determine health, housing, and social risk factors. Of the 132 assessed (surveyed), 48 individuals (21 households) successfully enrolled in a Rapid Rehousing or Permanent Housing Program). The main focus of this program is to provide currently housed individuals and families with the means (either by financial aid or counseling services) to remain in their current housing situation or to obtain housing  In collaboration with the County of Santa Clara and Rebuilding Together, the Community Development Block Grants and contribution from the City during FY 20-21, helped fund a rehabilitation program for low- income residents in Morgan Hill to help 15 households (with 107 necessary repairs)  Continued to contract with HouseKeys to oversee the management of Below Market Rate (BMR) Program. During FY 20-21 and 21-22, four new BMR homes were built, seven re-sale BMR’s were rehabilitated and sold, and 45 refinance subordination transactions were processed, 5 court cases were processed, 36 BMR lotteries were conducted, 8 BMR homeowner orientations were presented, and 20 BMR home buyer orientations were presented  Continued to contract with HouseKeys to oversee and administer the City loan portfolio. In FY 2020-21, HouseKeys processed 65 transactions  Coordinated inclement cold weather shelter in partnership with Community Christian Church  Collaborated with First Community Housing to identify Santa Clara County funding for a 60 unit low-income modular Affordable Housing Development.  Hosted three Rental Assistance events with the County of Santa Clara and Community Based organizations to provide COVID relief rental assistance  Participated in the regional workgroup charged with the implementation of the 2020 Santa Clara County Five Year Community Plan to End Homelessness. This plan was developed to house and provide resources for the 10,000 people who are currently unhoused in Santa Clara
