Division Description Information Technology (IT) Team consists of a Director, a Program Analyst, and two technicians. The team centrally manages the Information and Technology assets, planning, support and alignment of the City of Morgan Hill technology infrastructure with departmental business needs and requirements. The Team is responsible for infrastructure support, applications development, desktop support, telecommunications, network engineering, help desk support, other crucial technology projects, and information security. FY 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 Accomplishments  Completed the first cycle of workstations upgrade as part of on-going PC replacement program to eliminate end-of-life PCs and ensure teammates are on a regular PC replacement cycle  Upgraded Council Chamber Audio/Video (A/V) high definition including streaming to social media sites such as Facebook  Restructured IT Leadership to meet the growing demand of technology in the City  Implemented filtering technology to protect the City from malicious malware  Hired and trained Information Technology team Security  Completed security risk assessment and penetration testing to ensure compliance with best practices that limit exposure to security breaches and phishing vulnerabilities  Staff secured access to critical services such as email and documents stored in the cloud by enabling multi-factor authentication (MFA) for all users outside the City network  Secured VPN access with multi-factor authentication  Implemented Microsoft Defender to address malware attachments and phishing attempts and protect the City’s data as well as its reputation  Completed a security vulnerability assessment and network penetration test  Deployed next generation firewalls with threat prevention subscription and advanced URL filtering  Deployed new switches, WiFi routers and wireless access points  Deployed new security rules to ensure data loss prevention for sensitive data such as credit card and social security numbers  Deployed a security add-in for all outlook users allowing users to directly report spam and phishing emails to Microsoft  All teammate meeting – IT delivered a presentation to all City staff regarding cybersecurity Projects  Upgraded the Council Chamber to support hybrid meetings by adding a dedicated Zoom station and new A/V inputs  Made A/V upgrades in City Hall conference room with new video sharing equipment, new video conferencing cameras and dedicated PC and large 65” screens for hybrid meetings
