Project Description The intent of this project is to plan and ultimately improve the City’s Corporation Yard facility, increasing usable space for the long-term needs of the City. This project is tied to a patronship with the Morgan Hill Unified School District (MHUSD), who currently utilizes a portion of the site for the District’s transportation yard. The City recently partnered with the District on a Maintenance and Operations Space Needs Analysis for the City and in FY 2022-23 the City developed a detailed phased improvement plan for the City portion of the site. A phased improvement plan has been completed and the City is currently working with the MHUSD on next steps on partnership. Funding for FY 2025-26 is intended to address the needs for the initial work towards electric vehicle charging infrastructure and to fund a portion of the solar improvements scheduled for the Corporation Yard. The design of the electrical vehicle charging infrastructure and solar additions are currently being designed.

Project Justification Additional space is needed for future growth of the Maintenance and Utilities Divisions, which increases in size as the City grows. Additionally, the City’s Climate Action Plan and State law is increasing the need for additional electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
