General Plan Circulation Element Vision Zero Transportation Master Plan (In Progress)

Project Description The City is working to develop its first comprehensive Transportation Master Plan. The Plan is intended to provide numerous components, including traffic counts, future traffic modeling, updated speed survey to set speed limits, review of existing transportation infrastructure, specific review and analysis of bike and pedestrian infrastructure, development of transportation priorities for the City, creation of a capital improvement program, and numerous other components. The Plan will also provide the foundation for the update of the City’s General Plan Transportation/Circulation Element Update. Projects outlined in this section would be identified in the Transportation Master Plan for implementation to improve future roadway operations. The Plan’s identified improvements would be reviewed within a Transportation Impact Fee Study to be funded thro ugh the City’s Traffic Impact Fund (309). Project Justification Improvements would support improved roadway operations to accommodate growth within the City. Improvements would be intended to prioritize traffic congestion reduction and safety associated with new developments. Eliminating increased traffic delays and maintaining safe roads has been expressed as a great desire among many Morgan Hill residents.
