2021 Water System Master Plan
Project Description By 2030, this project aims to plan, design, and construct four new groundwater wells. These wells include Nob Hill wells 1, 2, and the Boys Ranch wells 1, 2. The Master Plan Project IDs associated with these wells are NH-W1, NH-W2, BR-W1, and BR-W2. One well is at the design stage with anticipated construction and commissioning for the end of 2025. The remainder of the wells are slated to be designed and constructed in the subsequent years. Those wells are in the pipeline to support future growth, improve redundancy, and increase reliability. Project Justification The 2022 Water System Master Plan identified that the City’s supply requirement exceeds the City’s existing firm supply capacity. Constructing new municipal water wells serves several critical purposes. First and foremost, it enhances reliability and redundancy within the water supply system. By having those wells built, the risk of service disruption due to well maintenance, repairs, or unexpected issues is significantly reduced. Second, the new wells can support future growth in the C ommunity. As the population expands, additional water sources become essential to meet increasing demand. Lastly, investing in new wells ensures we can provide a sustainable and consistent water supply to residents, businesses, and essential services. Overall, the wells will contribute to the long-term stability and resilience of the water infrastructure.
