JAZZ/ACROBATICS Preteen and upper elementary school aged dancers will enhance their dance techniques and expand their acrobatic skills in this combo class Students will work on flexibility, turns, walkovers, limbers, and hand-springs Students should have an introduction to basic tumbling skills before starting class in order to review and progress to the next level: diving somersaults, cartwheels, round-offs, and both chaine turns and pirouettes Flexibility, muscle strengthening, and memorization of steps will be part of the workout regime in warm-ups, across the floor, and routine rehearsal to a recital song Dancers will have a special costumed parent showcase in October Instructor: April Gaylord Location: Community & Cultural Center, Mira Monte Room Activity # Date Day Time Age Sessions WSI027 9/5-11/14* T 6pm-6:45pm 6-12yrs 9 *No class on 9/19, 10/31 Fees: $240 / CRC Member: $230 WINTER DANCE PERFORMANCE Are you looking for a fun way to prepare for the holiday season? Are visions of Sugar Plums dancing in our head? This three-week intensive study will focus on Ballet, Jazz, Acrobatics and Musical Theatre Students will get to complete a weekly craft project and prepare for a showcase performance On the last day of class 12/13, parents will be able to watch the final performance at 5:30pm Special Instructions: Participants should bring a water bottle and wear dance shoes or rubber tread socks Wear comfortable clothes like leotards which facilitate easy movement Materials fee: $10 for craft projects to be paid to the instructor on the first day of class Instructor: April Gaylord Location: Community & Cultural Center, Mira Monte Room & El Toro Room Activity # Date Day Time Age Sessions FSI029 11/28-12/12 T/F 5pm-6pm 4-11yrs 5 Fees: $130 / CRC Member: $120 MOBILE APP DESIGN Bring your app ideas to life using a block-based coding tool In this camp, students will learn how to design, code and test mobile apps They will brainstorm ideas, design user interfaces, write code, and debug to complete each project Computer programming fundamentals such as loops, variables, conditionals, and objects will be covered It is not required to bring a mobile phone to the class Instructor: AllCode Academy Location: Centennial Recreation Center, Computer Room Activity# Date Day Time Age Sessions FSK010 9/13 – 11/15 W 4pm-5pm 9-12yrs 10 Fees: $280/CRC Member: $270 GAME DESIGN AND CREATIVE CODING In this class, students will be introduced to text-based programming and creative coding using P5 JavaScript JavaScript is a versatile language and coding with the p5 js library presents endless possibilities of what students can create Students will learn computer programming fundamentals in JavaScript and they will apply these concepts to make games and creative digital designs Beginners to advanced, all levels are welcome; we will have projects tailored for each skill level Instructor: AllCode Academy Location: Centennial Recreation Center, Computer Room Activity# Date Day Time Age Sessions FSK011 9/13 - 11/15 W 5:15pm-6:15pm 10-15yrs 10 Fees: $290/CRC Member: $280
