Aquatics Programs Aquatics Programs AMERICAN RED CROSS LIFEGUARD CLASS AGE: 15-99 RED CROSS BLENDED LEARNING LIFEGUARDING CLASS This lifeguard training is a blended learning class, you will need to finish the online training before the first class sessions. This course, based on the American Red Cross Lifeguarding Program, will certify students in Lifeguarding, CPR and AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid. Students must be 15 years of age by the last day of class. Attendance at every class is required. For more information, please call Suzie Nguyen at 408.310.4303. *Pre-Req Requirements: This class will require a mandatory prerequisite test. The successful completion of the prerequisites is required in order to participate in the lifeguard class. WATER POLO AGE: 7-18 This program is for 7-18-year-old athletes and accommodates all levels of players, experienced to novice. Requirements: Participants must have a basic swimming ability and be comfortable enough to cross the pool, unassisted/ without flotation device. We will start with story time, and then engage in fun activities such as a mini obstacle course, duck duck goose, red light green light, freeze dance, stretching and more. SKYHAWKS SPRING BREAK CAMP AFTERCARE PROGRAM AGE: 7-12 After Camp Care is available for Skyhawks Spring Break Full-Day Camp. Campers must be enrolled in the current week of camp to participate. Program hours are Monday-Friday from 3:00 5:30pm. Includes: supervision, activities, games, and more. Pre registration is required; this is not a drop-in program. Through games and activities, campers explore balance, hand/eye coordination and skill development at their own pace. Participants should wear appropriate clothing and running shoes; bring several snacks, a water bottle, and sunscreen. All children receive an award certificate, Skyhawks t-shirt, and ball. Teen Center Activities ART & DESIGN CLUB GRADE 6-12 The Purpose of the Art & Design Club is to provide an opportunity for young creators to learn about the different mediums of art and develop their skills with peers who share similar passion. Creators interested in Painting, Ceramics and SPORTS CLUBS GRADE 6-12 The purpose of the Sport Club is to provide a fun opportunity for Teens to be able to utilize the basketball gym to play various types of court related games. Skills and drills will also be offered during each session, no experience needed to play. Location: Centennial Recreation Center TBD Ongoing 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM LQBTQ + YOUTH & ALLIES CLUB GRADE 6-12 The purpose of the LGBTQ + Youth Allies Club is to provide a safe space for individuals who identify within LGBTQ + spectrum by connecting with their peers and community in a supportive environment. Representing a partnership between the City of Morgan Hill and the Mt. Madonna YMCA, the Centennial Recreation Teen Center is designed to be a safe place for teenagers to hang out and have fun. Membership to the Teen Center is free to all Morgan Hill residents’ grades 6th-12th. AMENITIES The Teen Center comes equipped with: ■ Computers ■ Foosball table
