Police Administration (continued)  Enhanced communication by implementing Text to 911 (Council Ongoing Priorities: Enhancing Public Safety)

FY 2020-21 and 2021-22 Activity Goals  Conduct activities below as part of Vision Zero Morgan Hill effort:

 Coordinate with the Morgan Hill Unified School District (MHUSD) and American Medical Response (AMR) to offer driving under the influence programs at local high schools (e.g. Every 15 Minutes, Sober Graduation, Zero Tolerance)  Partner with MHUSD to provide student/driver education regarding common law violations and misconceptions  Partner with nightlife businesses and transportation networks to deter impaired driving by offering special services and promotions (e.g. Know Your Limits Campaign, Designated Driver Program, Uber, Lyft)  Replace Mobizent eCite-electronic citations and traffic collision reporting platform to Crossroads to improve reliability, efficiencies and environmental footprint and ensure alignment of traffic enforcement with high collision areas. (Ongoing Council Priorities: Protecting the Environment)  Expand Chaplaincy Program to include additional response types, resources and provide services to other departments: (Ongoing Council Priorities: Enhancing Public Safety/ Supporting Our Youth, Seniors and Entire Community)  Hire 10 new Volunteers in Policing (VIPs) and expand services provided by the program: (Ongoing Council Priorities: Enhancing Public Safety/Supporting Our Youth, Seniors and Entire Community)  Enhance Listos Program; recruit Listos Program Instructor, organize and deliver community training (in Spanish); (City Council Ongoing Priorities: Enhancing Public Safety, Enhancing Diversity and Inclusiveness)  Implement Racial and Identity Profiling data collection prior to January 1, 2022 required start date. Financial Comments During FY 18-19 and FY 19-20 the Police Department received several grant awards totaling over $1.4 million that served to enhance public safety and foster innovation:  Mobile Command Vehicle - $691,000  Regional asset shared with Gilroy; Gilroy provides 50% of annual maintenance costs
