Housing Programs (continued) Ongoing collaboration with Santa Clara County, the Housing Division has helped to fund a rapid rehousing program to help put an end to homelessness. The main focus of this program is to provide currently housed individuals and families with the means (either by financial aid or counseling services, etc.) to remain in their current housing situation or to obtain housing In collaboration with Rebuilding Together, the Housing Division helped fund and monitor a rehabilitation and Blight Busters program for low- income Seniors in Morgan Hill. To date, the program has helped 43 households with many necessary repairs. Working with Keyser Marston Associates, the Housing Division worked to re-calculate the Housing In- Lieu fee. Continued to contract with HouseKeys to oversee the management of Below Market Rate (BMR) Program. During the fiscal years of 2018-19 and 2019-20, eighteen (18) new BMR homes were built, 16 refinance subordination transactions were processed, 565 compliance letters were sent out to current BMR homeowners, 5 court cases were processed, 36 BMR lotteries were conducted, 8 BMR homeowner orientations were presented, and 20 BMR home buyer orientations were presented. Applied for and received a 2020 Census Grant - $34,000 for outreach to count the hard to count populations Planned and developed a pilot inclement cold weather shelter for single men, opened January 2020 Collaboration with Beacon Senior Affordable Housing Development (75 units) & First Community Housing (60 modular low-income family units) to identify sites and begin talks to build 100% affordable housing Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) event – Housing Trust of Silicon Valley workshop – April 2019 Down payment Assistance (DPA) – Housing trust of Silicon Valley workshop Event April 2019 & February 2020 Regional participation in the workgroup charged with the development of the upcoming 2020 Santa Clara County Five Year Community Plan to End Homelessness for 10,000 people who are currently unhoused in Santa Clara County Participated with work group charged with the Santa Clara County Regional Assessment of Fair Housing Draft of the Goals and Strategies to promote residential racial and ethnic integration and reduce displacement by increasing the supply of affordable housing in both high opportunity areas, areas with ongoing displacement, and areas that are at risk of displacement. December 2019 Received an A- grade from the Mercury News and East Bay Times/Southern California News Group journalists for RHNA performance. Ongoing efforts to achieve our remaining RHNA goal.
