Project Description This project is to construct school pedestrian safety improvements in the public right of way in accordance with the Residential Development Control System (RDCS) ordinance. Locations and scope will be determined in collaboration with the Morgan Hill Unified School District staff and the City/School District Safe Routes to School Committee. Projects may include crosswalk enhancements, flashing signage, sidewalk repairs and enhancements, traffic calming, and other improvements to facilitate safe access for students to and from schools. Scheduled Projects Include: o Britton School Sidewalk and Traffic Enhancements - FY 2018/19 o Nordstrom School Off-site Improvements - FY 2018/19 o Enhanced Crosswalks near School Sites - FY 2018/19 & 2019/20 o Jackson School Off-site Improvements - FY 2019/20 Project Justification School Pedestrian Safety Fund 355 fees collected from developers throughout the RDCS process are to be allocated for construction of school safety projects. The projects listed have been identified jointly by the staff at the Morgan Hill Unified School District and City of Morgan Hill.
