development of two new wells, and drilled new wells. Future well projects are recommended in the 2017 Water System Master Plan.
3. Water System Master Plan Updates This project consists of regular updates to the City's Water System Master Plan to ensure that the water system planning assumptions remain consistent with the growth of the city and potential changes to water system operations over time.
Project Justification 1. Urban Water Management Plan Updates
The Urban Water Management Plan is a planning document prepared every five years in accordance with the 1983 Urban Water Management Planning Act. The plan is submitted to and reviewed by the California Department of Water Resources. 2. Water Supply Planning New wells are identified in the 2017 Water SystemMaster Plan and reflect the need for additional water supply capacity. These new wells are intended to provide reliability to the expanding service area and accommodate growth within the General Plan’s Land Use Plan. 3. Water System Master Plan Updates The City most recently updated the Water System Master Plan in 2017. In order to continue to effectively plan, develop, and finance the City's water system infrastructure, regular updates to the plan are necessary. This allows for consistency with potential changes to development, water system operations, and capital improvement project funding and prioritization.
