Division Description As part of the Administrative Services Department, Information Services centrally manages the Information and Technology assets, planning, support and alignment of the City of Morgan Hill technology infrastructure with departmental business needs and requirements. FY 2016-17 and 2017-18 Accomplishments • Moved on-premise Exchange email system to the Microsoft Government cloud • Upgraded City Workstations from Office 2007 to Office 365 Government Enterprise cloud solution • Upgraded City Workstations to a minimum Windows 7 operating system • Upgraded all City Servers to a minimum Windows 2008 operating system • Expanded and standardized digital video recorders and storage platforms for security cameras and public works video assets • Replaced enterprise storage and virtual server infrastructure with a fault torrent and redundant hyperconverged virtual server infrastructure • Started implementation of virtual desktops and citywide upgrade to Windows 10 operating system • Designed and implemented Downtown parks security camera and public Wi-Fi system • Worked with departments and external partners on expanded business reports, reporting, and information integration • Worked with departments and emergency operations to expand City wireless access • Implemented City Hall / DSC Conference room calendaring automation • Redesigned and upgraded power and network connectivity in all building server rooms for redundant and fault tolerant connectivity • Expanded resource monitoring and alerting to include cloud resources • Worked with departments on maintaining and implementing existing and new business systems • Implemented new internal support processes to provide better, faster, and more cost-efficient customer service Work with departments to expand use of Office 365 collaboration and communication features to develop intranet, cloud libraries, workflows, and collaboration groups for access to digital documents currently stored only on City file servers (Community Engagement and Messaging, Preserving and Cultivating Public Trust, Maintaining Fiscal Responsibility) • Work with departments to review and update comprehensive service and business operations risk and downtime requirements (Enhancing Public Safety) • Replace end of life network, remote management, and security equipment (Enhancing Public Safety) • Work with departments on replacing 6-year-old fleet of Multi-Function Copy machines (Maintaining Fiscal Responsibility) • Replace end of life Channel 17 broadcast equipment to support high definition storage and FY 2018-19 and 2019-20 Activity Goals •
