Implementation of the Mobile Crisis Response Team. This team is in partnership with the County Behavioral Health Services, assigning one detective and a licensed mental health clinician to work one day a week to respond to, screen, and assess individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. The team provides crisis intervention and referrals to support services and follow-up. Continued to develop Department-wide safety protocols and procedures per COVID-19 Regulations and Guidelines for response to: o Calls for service o Department holding cells, and o Prisoner transport Staffing: To meet the needs of the growing community and increased workload in all divisions of the Police Department, the following positions will be added in FY 2022-23: Hire 1.0 full time equivalent (FTE) Public Safety Dispatcher to meet the increase in the volume of calls for service to our Dispatch Center and alleviate mandatory overtime for the current 8.0 FTE Public Safety Dispatchers. With this addition, there will be a total of 9.0 FTE Dispatchers and 1.0 FTE Dispatch Supervisor (Enhancing Public Safety; Foster Positive Organizational Culture) Hire 1.0 FTE Multi-Service Officer in the Field Operations Division to assist officers with non -emergency calls for service such as, recovering stolen vehicles, preparing reports, transporting prisoners to County jail and performing animal service duties as required (Enhancing Public Safety) Hire 1.0 FTE Community Services Officer in the Special Operations Division to serve as the juvenile justice specialist in partnership with the District Attorney’s Office, this position will also conduct community outreach and engagement, and support the day-to-day investigative functions of the division (Enhancing Public Safety) Transition existing 1.0 FTE Senior Records Specialist to 1.0 FTE Records Specialist Supervisor to manage and supervise the 3.0 FTE Records Specialists (Enhancing Public Safety; Foster Positive Organizational Culture) Transition existing 0.5 FTE Records Specialist to 1.0 FTE position to meet the needs of the increased workload for this division (Enhancing Public Safety; Foster Positive Organizational Culture) FY 2022-23 and 2023-24 Activity Goals
