Police Special Operations (continued) FY 2020-21 and 2021-22 Activity Goals
Present at least two Parent Project Classes per year in English and Spanish (FY 19-20 Council Strategic Priorities: Community Engagement & Messaging and Supporting Youth, Enhancing Diversity and Inclusiveness) Conduct Active Shooter training based on revised county-wide protocol to the community (Council Ongoing Priorities: Enhancing Public Safety) Abate graffiti within 48 hours of notification (Council Ongoing Priorities: Protecting the Environment) Continue to participate in Regional Task Force SCCSET (Council Ongoing Priorities: Fostering a Positive Organizational Culture, Council 2019-20 Strategic Priorities: Advancing Regional Initiatives) Continue to participate in Regional Task Force RATTF (Council Ongoing Priorities: Maintaining Fiscal Responsibility) Continue to provide School Resource Officers and look for new opportunities to work with the MHUSD to address issues like vaping, tobacco use and distracted driving. (Council Ongoing Priorities: Enhancing Public Safety, Supporting Our Youth, Seniors and Entire Community, Maintaining Fiscal Responsibility) Conduct Run, Hide, Defend trainings at MHUSD and private schools (Council Ongoing Priorities: Supporting Our Youth, Seniors and Entire Community) Develop and implement a new UAS (unmanned aerial system) program to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the MHPD in order to enhance the safety of our community. (Council Ongoing Priorities: Enhancing Public Safety) Assist MHUSD with Restorative Justice Practices (Council Ongoing Priorities: Supporting Our Youth, Seniors and Entire Community) Continue to use social media to inform and educate the community of police activity and public safety announcements (Council FY 19-20 Strategic Priorities: Community Engagement & Messaging) Continue to actively participate in South County Youth Task Force (Council Ongoing Priorities: Supporting Our Youth, Seniors and Entire Community) Conduct activities below as part of Vision Zero Morgan Hill effort: Coordinate with MHUSD and American Medical Response (AMR) to offer driving under the influence programs at local high schools (e.g. Every 15 Minutes, Sober Graduation, Zero Tolerance)
